Choose a Newark lounge by your departure terminal and confirmed access—not by a “best lounge” list. United Club and Polaris Lounge are different products. AirTrain terminal access is not the same as moving between gates without another security check.

Terminal movement can determine whether a lounge is useful
Newark’s official guide says many terminal changes require another TSA screening. It identifies a United shuttle for eligible connecting customers between terminals A and C. AirTrain links the terminal areas but should not be mistaken for an unrestricted airside connection.

For a lounge in another terminal, first confirm you can reach it and return in time with your boarding pass. Budget walking, transport, screening and the boarding deadline. A one-hour lounge visit can become impractical once movement is included. Do not leave the correct concourse solely because an online list rates another lounge higher.
What to confirm before paying for access
- Look up the flight’s current terminal in the airport or airline directory.
- Check ticket-based access and any membership already included with your card.
- Ask about guest fees, children and capacity before buying a pass.
- Check the hours against your departure, not your airport arrival alone.
- Choose food or a quiet seat in your own terminal if lounge access is uncertain.

Do not buy a new annual membership just to solve one airport visit without comparing a day option and benefits you already hold. Likewise, an expensive card is not automatically justified by a lounge photograph. Evaluate the whole annual cost and actual use separately.

La Compagnie’s current airport page identifies LOUNGE&CO at Newark Terminal B. Follow your booking’s instructions and the provider’s conditions. United’s official policy pages were reachable but not fully readable in this text-based research pass; access exceptions and opening hours are intentionally not presented as completely verified.

If you need certainty, request confirmation using the airport, departure date, flight, fare and number of guests. Keep the response with your travel documents. A generic “business class” description often leaves out the very condition that determines entry.
